Admission policies are anchored on the belief that only those whose qualifications indicate a strong likelihood to succeed in programs offered at Mercado College and those who can measure up to the academic standards shall be accepted.
The Institute on her part agrees that upon completion of the course of study prescribed and approved by the Commission on Higher Education and compliance with the rules and regulations, she shall confer upon the student the title or degree in the form of a certificate or diploma.

As a general rule, transfer students are not admitted except for meritorious reasons. Admission is subject to the evaluation and approval of the Registrar in coordination with the College Dean, based on the applicant's academic credentials and qualifications.
Transfer applicants are required to follow the admission procedures prescribed by the Admissions Committee.
First and Second Year transferees must pass the Mercado College Entrance Examination. Third and Fourth Year transferees must pass the Qualifying Examination and Interview conducted by the College Dean. Additional aptitude examinations may also be required depending on the program, such as the Nursing Aptitude Test (NAT), Philippine Aptitude Test for Teachers (PATT), or Allied Medical College Aptitude Test (AMCAT).
Transfer students are required to repeat major clinical subjects taken from their previous institution. In exceptional cases, the College Dean may authorize validating examinations for students with exemplary academic performance.
Applicants must have passing marks in at least sixty percent (60%) of the total units earned in their previous school. Furthermore, a minimum residency of one (1) academic year at Mercado College is required before graduation.
The maximum allowable Leave of Absence (LOA) for a student enrolled at Mercado College is one (1) academic year.
To apply for LOA, students must accomplish the LOA Form at the Dean’s Office and secure the approval of the College Dean through signature.
Once approved, the accomplished form must be submitted to the Registrar for proper recording and processing.
No student shall be re-admitted if he/she did not file LOA or failed to secure the approval of the College Dean.
Procedure for Re-Admission:
In general, cross-enrollment is discouraged. However, for valid reasons, a student may be permitted to cross-enroll in another school upon the written approval of the Registrar.
Conditions for Cross-Enrollment include being a graduating student, having subject schedule conflicts, taking off-semester subjects, and enrolling only in a duly recognized educational institution.
