Bachelor of Science in Biology

Bachelor of Science in Biology (BS Biology) is a four-year degree program designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the study of living organisms and life processes. The program develops scientific knowledge, laboratory skills, and critical thinking abilities needed for careers in research, healthcare, education, and related biological sciences fields.

Subjects and Curriculum

The BS Biology curriculum is structured into core biology disciplines and supporting science courses:

  • General Biology: Cell Biology, Genetics, Ecology, Evolutionary Biology
  • Organismal Biology: Botany, Zoology, Microbiology
  • Applied Biology: Biotechnology, Environmental Biology, Molecular Biology
  • Supporting Sciences: Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biostatistics

The first three years of the program focus on theoretical instruction, laboratory experiments, and fieldwork activities that build scientific competence. Students are trained in proper laboratory techniques, data analysis, and research methodologies.

In the fourth year, students undertake advanced laboratory research or a thesis project under the supervision of faculty advisers. They may also participate in field studies, internships, or research presentations depending on institutional requirements.
